The photographs have not been retouched or altered. You are actually looking at the gimmick from just inches away and there is nothing to see.
Fearson's Box is especially effective when performed in intimate settings, where your audience can really see what's going on up close. It also plays great on tv and video. Use it any time you can gather a group in front. It can be done one one one, almost face to face. Or use it at your next corporate gig or school assembly. Angles are best when viewed from the front, with the audience at the same level as the performer or higher. It is not suitable for work where the audience will be lower than the stage.
Plans to build this illusion using an ordinary milk crate have been long available. The most troublesome part of the construction has always been hiding the gimmick effectively. Another drawback was the small size of a milk crate. It was a tight fit for many performer's feet. After experimenting with various designs and materials, the perfect solution to both issues has been found. This design takes the illusion to a whole new level. The gimmick can not be detected even at close range at any time during the performance. And the spacious box will accomodate even the largest feet.
The box is also translucent, which makes it even more deceptive. It appears as though nothing could be concealed, but there is. The sturdy base can easily support 250 pounds without warping or revealing the gimmick, even on a soft floor or carpet.
They say the devil is in the details. In this case the details are everywhere. The rope is attached with eyelets and is adjustable so you can easily customize it to your height. The included video game controller is plugged right in to the metallicized tubing that also serves to stabilize the the box. The integrated base is covered with a commercial grade carpet that can be removed for easy cleaning and will last a lifetime.

"This is one of those illusions that looks so good, practicing is as much fun as performing. My wife is very quick to grasp the solution to most tricks. I did the routine for her and was thrilled by the glassy eyed slack jawed stare she gave me as every gear in her head spun until the teeth broke off and she had to ask, "How the hell did you do that!" This is the acid test for a great trick. I may start to close my kid show with it. Packs small and plays strong I still can't believe you are selling it so cheap.

Well, Steve Fearson has done it again. Last evening at the Las Vegas Gary Darwin Magic Club meeting he unveiled his latest creation. Here is a brief description:
Performer brings in one of those plastic milk cartons that you see in back of your local supermarket. The box has attached to it a loop of rode about 7 feet long plus one of those "game controllers" that is used with your Nintendo. He climbs into the box (you can see his feet through the openings in the sides of the box) and picks up the "controller” .
After some manipulations he begins to lift-up (or liftoff) the floor of the box by several inches. You can clearly see his feet slowly lift up and off of the bottom of the box. He is levitating!
Next he reaches down, picks up the loop of rope and puts it over his head, around his neck. (Like a harness) Again he "fiddles" with the controls and this time when he floats up the box of course comes along with him! Both HE AND THE BOX are floating several inches off of the floor!!!!!
This Can be done in your living room - at the club - at a party - or during a platform type show, although it is best when done with the audience up close.. Believe me it is puzzling, baffling and above all, entertaining!
